Lois Mae Brown passed away peacefully at her home on December 19, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on June 2, 1930, in Roslindale, Massachusetts, Lois lived a life defined by love, creativity, adventure, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Lois was the cherished daughter of John "Jack" Brown and Thelma Brown. She spent her childhood years growing up in Natick, Massachusetts, and Bath, Maine-places that nurtured her lifelong love of nature, family traditions, and the outdoors. From an early age, Lois was known for her quiet strength, creativity, and warm spirit.
She shared more than 70 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, James Alan Brown, a remarkable testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a family rooted in resilience, laughter, and deep affection.
Lois was preceded in death by her son John Frederick Brown, her daughter Mary Ann Walsh, her grandson Thomas Hoyland, and her dearest friend and sister of the heart, Elizabeth (Liz) Kirk, whose friendship was one of the great joys of her life.
She is survived by her sons William (Billy) Brown of Holliston and James (Jimmy) Brown and his wife Tammy of Natick. Lois was a proud and loving grandmother to Callahan Grady and Meire Hoyland Sullivan, and a devoted great-grandmother to Olivia and Isabella Hoyland, who brought her endless happiness and pride.
A devoted homemaker and successful Tupperware dealer, Lois had a gift for making a house feel like home. Her creativity was woven into everything she did-whether she was painting, sewing, knitting, crafting Nantucket baskets, or tackling a favorite puzzle. She loved the outdoors and cherished family camping trips in New Hampshire and Cape Cod. Adventurous at heart, she climbed Mount Washington and Mount Chocorua with her family, memories that became treasured stories passed down through generations.
Lois especially loved her summers in Humarock, where the ocean air, sunshine, and time spent with loved ones filled her soul. She also enjoyed traveling, always eager to explore new places while creating lasting memories with those she loved.
Lois will be remembered as kind, strong, devoted, and quietly humorous. She had a gentle way of caring for others, a steady presence during life's challenges, and a heart that found its greatest joy in her family. Above all else, she was most proud of the life and legacy she built through love, creativity, and enduring bonds.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, 10:30am at Glenwood Cemetery in South Natick, Massachusetts.
