Lois Collins (Campers) age 84 of Duxbury, formerly of South Boston passed away peacefully in her sleep after a day surrounded by her loving family.
Born to the parents of the late Louie and Dolly Campers. She was the wife of the late Thomas Collins Sr, and longtime love of the late James E LeBlanc.
She is survived by her sons Stephen Collins and his wife Tish (Madjerec) Collins of Hull and Thomas Collins Jr. of Braintree. She was the loving grandmother of Stephen Collins Jr. and his wife Maureen of Hull, Jaime(Collins) Cascarano and her husband Nick of Whitman, Meaghan Collins and her late fiance Derek Ladderbush of Holbrook, Kristen Collins and her fiance Chris Jones of Mansfield, and Isabella and Dylan Collins. She was the proud great-grandmother of Brayden Dargon, Allison and Jacqueline Collins, Jordan and Reese Cascarano, Nolan Ladderbush and Maverick Jones.
She is survived by her sister Joyce Brooks and her husband George, Her brother Louis (Louie) Campers and his late wife Paula, her brother Robert (Bobby) Campers and his wife Karen. She is preceded in death by her sisters Sheila Corbitt, Donna O'Brien and Barbara Roache.
She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Lois was known for the grandmother she was, affectionately called Nanny by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. For her feisty personality and smart mouth and her love for Country Western music. In her free time you could find her at the nearest Bingo Hall with her sisters, doing word search puzzles, sitting in the warm sun or enjoying a cup of tea. Her ditzy manner made her the life of the party and there wasn't a Patsy Cline song she couldn't sing.
She was loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
Visiting hours will take place at Casper's Funeral Home in South Boston (187 Dorchester Street) on September 14 from 1-4. A funeral mass will be held at Gate of Heaven church in South Boston (615 E Fourth Street) on September 15 at 10am immediately followed by a Catholic burial at Melrose Cemetery in Brockton.
