Lois Carol Coman passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on
October 10, 1933, to Marjorie Emily (Wynaught) Harris and Elton Lowe Harris, Lois grew up
with her brother, Richard E. Harris, who preceded her passing in early 2022. She graduated
from East Providence High School. She successfully completed her post-high school
graduate studies at Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Providence, Rhode Island.
Lois and her beloved husband, Stuart Coman, Jr., (who preceded her in passing on July 17,
2022), were engaged to be married in 1954, while Stuart was serving in the United States
Navy. They married on May 26, 1956, welcomed their only child, Robert Stuart Coman, in
March 1957 and enjoyed 66 years of marital bliss together.
Stuart graduated with an Engineering Degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1961,
and began his electrical management career with Connecticut Light and Power Co. in
Willimantic, CT. The family lived in Columbia, CT., for 10 years. Stuart was promoted and
transferred to the Essex / Madison Offices of Northeast Utilities. The family resided in Old
Saybrook, CT for 26 years.
Their son, Robert, married Kimberley on June 21, 1987, and they lived in Palm Beach
Gardens and then Boynton Beach, while raising their three children. Following Stuart's
retirement, Lois and Stuart moved to Boynton Beach, FL, just a few houses down from their
son and his family. In retirement, Lois and Stuart devoted themselves to being supportive
grandparents of their beloved grandchildren-Katherine Stuart, Kristina Carol, and Robert
Charles-as they grew from childhood into adulthood. Katherine married Ryan Taney in
2011, and together they welcomed Stuart and Lois's cherished great-grandchildren,
Madison Kaye Taney and Garrison Stuart Taney.
Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her
greatest joy in the happiness of her family. Her dedication to her family was boundless; she
never missed an opportunity to show her love and support, whether it was attending school
activities, sporting events, birthdays, graduations, or just being there for the everyday
moments that meant the most.
Her legacy of love will always live on in the hearts of her family
