Ronald (Ron) Grausam, 79, of Lake Worth, FL, formerly Virginia and New Jersey, passed away on August 21, 2025. Ron was born in East Orange, NJ, but moved with his family to Salem, VA as a child. He attended Roanoke Catholic, and Virginia Tech. In Salem he met and married his wife Janet in 1966, and their daughter Leigh-Ann (Constable) was born in October,1967. Ron started his career opening stores for Woolworth & Co, and moved from city to city along the east coast while doing so. He often bragged about moving over 20 times before Leigh-Ann was in kindergarten, with their fondest memories coming from their time in the Boston area. Ron settled his family back in Salem in the early 70's where he began his sales career. Ron was the ultimate salesman and started a real estate company that was an early iteration of For Sale by Owner. In Salem, he began a career with Amana refrigeration building a dealer network throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. Amana moved the family to Columbia, MD where Ron grew an Amana branch for several years. Finally, Ron moved with Janet to South Florida, to become the General Manager for ARD distributors, an appliance distributor, where he had a significant impact on the business and the team within the business. Ron was the consummate mentor/leader building relationships and a network over the years that he carried with him until his passing. Beyond his career and as part of it, he and Janet traveled the world, but he had a special place in his heart for Hawaii. Ron loved his family. His devotion to his wife Janet was beyond words. He loved his daughter and her 2 sons, Tyler and Nicholas whom he loved to watch in their many activities from Baseball to Hockey to Music. His influence on his grandsons is one of the many reasons they are great men today. Ron loved baseball, particularly the New York Yankees. He did his best to never miss a game, and when the team was in town or near town, he would be sure that the entire family had the opportunity to attend at least one game, but usually the entire series. His final words to his daughter were "I love you" and as she left the room he said, "Go Yankees!". Ron was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Ruth Grausam. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janet; his daughter, Leigh-Ann (Chris); his two grandsons Tyler (Leanna) and Nicholas (Zoe); one great-grandson Calihan; his sisters Bobette Olander and Dyanne Davis. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the colorectal cancer alliance at https://colorectalcancer.org. A visitation for Ron is set to take place on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Palm Beach Memorial Funeral Home from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at St. Therese De Lisieux Catholic Church at 11am.
