Lois A. Dunbar, 97 years old, passed away peacefully at Rennes Health Center in Appleton, WI on November 25, 2025.
Lois was born on June 8, 1928, to Charles and Frances (Strohmenger) Leibinger in Sun Prairie, WI.
Lois attended Sun Prairie Sacred Hearts Catholic School and Sun Prairie Public School. She was united in marriage to James D. Dunbar in 1946, and together they raised 3 children in Madison, WI - Nancy, Diane and Jack.
Lois married Daniel J. McIlwee in 1981. Together they enjoyed caring for their Irish Setters Bambi and Pennie who were so dear to their hearts.
Lois is survived by her daughter Diane and four grandchildren: Kathy (Srinath), Patrick (Heidi), Kazimar (Wren) and Taliesin (Crystal).
Lois was preceded in death by her grandparents Mike and Margaretha (Ziegmann) Leibinger, her father Charles A. Leibinger, her step-father Elmer F. Borchardt, her son Jack E. Dunbar, her mother Frances Strohmenger-Leibinger Borchardt, her husband Daniel J. McIlwee, her daughter Nancy E. Harrington, her brother Charles R. Leibinger as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and her precious Irish Setter Pennie.
Lois will be buried next to her husband Daniel at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Madison, WI. No service is planned.
