Our fun, feisty, and loving Mom and Granny joined our family in Heaven Sunday, September 28, 2025. Lois “Ladell” was born June 4, 1944 in Brownfield, TX to Maston and Georgia Phillips.
She grew up in Plainview, TX where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Donald Gene Harwood July 15, 1961. They welcomed their first daughter, Beverly, March 21, 1965, and completed their family with the arrival of their second daughter, Becky, March 11, 1970. Ladell dedicated her life to raising her girls and taking care of the home. She had 7 grandkids and 1 great-granddaughter that were her world. She loved fishing, cooking, crafting, the occasional margarita or tequila shot, and most of all spending time with her family. She was always the life of the party, making people laugh and smile with her silly faces and dancing around.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Beverly and Ricky Willis of Lubbock, and Becky and Phillip Scruggs of Lubbock; grandchildren Bradley Willis, Taylor Willis, Chanda Dawson, and Hailee and Dusty Anderson; and great-granddaughter Preslee Dawson. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Gene Harwood, parents Maston and Georgia Phillips, and grandsons Tyler Willis and Matt Dawson.
