Lois K. Johnson, 68, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 6:15 a.m., Monday, May 6, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 17, 1955 in rural Avon, IL, the daughter of Marion L. and Rosie I. (Bundy) Shaver. Lois was raised and educated in Warren & Knox counties and attended Monmouth High School.
Lois married Rodeny L. Johnson on July 13, 1973 in Monmouth, IL and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2024.
Lois was a homemaker, she loved raising and taking care of her family. Later she worked at Lincoln school as a bus monitor and playground supervisor for several years. Lois enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, and keeping a tidy home. She liked going fishing and mushrooming. Lois enjoyed her trips with Rodney to Las Vegas. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving Lois are her children, Tonya (Don) Stokes of Stronghurst, IL, Sandra (Kevin) Brown of Keithsburg, IL, Tabitha (Derek) Herren of Galesburg, IL; her grandchildren, Hunter Johnson of Stronghurst, IL, Seth Mize of LaHarpe, IL, PFC Patrick (Emmy) Johnson serving in Germany, Mikayla (James Anderson) Johnson of Keithsburg, IL, Keegan Herren of Galesburg, IL, Peyton Herren of Galesburg, IL, Bayley Herren of Galesburg, IL; her great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Kaidon, Ryder, Riven, Tiffany, James, Brecklyn, Ryleigh, and two on the way. Also surviving is one sister, Bessie Ladwig of Galesburg, IL and one brother, Raymond Shaver of Galesburg, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two sisters, Rose (Claude) Collins, Marian Adams; one brother, Marion Shaver, and one nephew, Toby Burgess.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth, IL. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Alzheimer’s Association. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
