Lois Knuth Obituary

Lois A. Knuth

July 18, 1955 - June 8, 2025

Lois, age 69, passed peacefully in her sleep the morning of Sunday, June 8, 2025 completing a 10-1/2 month, hard fought battle with colon cancer.

Lois is survived by her daughter Kristina Stockton (Jason) and her two grandchildren, Brooklyn and Camryn Stockton (who called her "Eema"). She is also survived by sisters Charlotte Lisius (Carl) of Oak Forest, Illinois and Janice Andersen (Eric) of Meansville, Georgia. Lois is lovingly remembered by nieces, nephews, other family and countless friends. While never married, Lois has spent the last 8-1/2 years with her devoted sweetheart, Bob Zimmerman, with whom she shared many adventures, frequent travel and a myriad of other experiences. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Evelyn Knuth (nee Drews), brother Calvin Knuth, and nephew Peter Lisius.

Raised on a dairy farm in Burnett, Wisconsin, Lois remained a country girl at heart. In her youth she was active in the Burnett 4-H club and participated in speech and demonstration contests at the club and county levels. She is a former Dodge County Dairy Princess. Lois grew up in the Lutheran church in Burnett and was active in the youth group.

After graduation from Horicon High School in 1973, Lois worked as a bookkeeper in a variety of businesses in Dodge County. Her most current employment was with Hallmark and previously with Vintage Auto Parts in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.

As an adult Lois remained active in the church supporting the youth group and in later years attending a quilting group.

Lois consistently strove to enrich herself in endless new explorations. She was always open to new ideas and ready to dive into the next exciting endeavor. She came to love classical music through season tickets to the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra with Bob.

Lois was the kindest, most unselfish and giving person one could ever meet - ALWAYS putting others ahead of herself. She was continually doing things for others and wouldn't DREAM of asking for anything in return. This included taking care of her disabled brother, her mother and an aunt. Everyone who knew her would agree that the world was a better place with her in it. Now, we can keep Lois always in our hearts, and strive to continue that legacy.

A Memorial/Life Celebration will be held on Monday, June 30th at 1:00 p.m. at the Horicon American Legion, 735 S. Hubbard St., Horicon, WI 53032. A light luncheon will be provided. Dress is casual - Recommend wearing something blue; Lois's favorite color.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Kristina Stockton for the future pursuits of Lois' granddaughters (Brooklyn and Camryn).
