MURRELL
Lois I. Murrell, 87, of Decatur died Saturday October 4, 2025, in Arc at Hickory Point with her family by her side.
A visitation will be held Wednesday October 8, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Sharon United Methodist Church (4363 West Center Street Decatur, IL. 62522). A funeral service to celebrate Lois' life will be Thursday 10:30 a.m. also at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery Decatur. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to Sharon United Methodist Church. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the arrangements.
Lois was born July 29, 1938, in Normal, Ill., daughter of Hubert and Valla Halcomb. She married Richard Murrell in August of 1956 at #10 Church in Potomac, Ill. She worked as a Teller and Personal Banker for both Gifford State Bank and Soy Capital Bank. Lois was also very active at the church where she and Richard attended for many years, Christ United Methodist Church. She was a beautiful seamstress and loved to garden. She loved spending time with her family in Decatur and later traveling to Florida to see Shelley's family.
Surviving are her daughters, Shelley (Jim) Wilcoxson, Lesley (Allen) Albert; grandchildren, Valerie (Todd) Dye, Joseph (Adrienne) Wilcoxson, Hailey (Joshua) Albert, Heather (Nathan) Albert; great-grandchildren, Jordan Dye, Fiona Dye, Ava Wilcoxson, Oliver Wilcoxson, Beckam Prakel and Bowman Prakel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Murrell; siblings, Eugene Halcomb, John Halcomb, Sherrill Halcomb and Barbara McKinzie.
