Lois Overman, age 81, of Puyallup, passed away peacefully at home with her loved ones present on 5-17-24.
Lois was born on 1-7-43 to Oliver and Ruth Martinson in Puyallup, WA.
Lois was raised in Puyallup where she attended Puyallup High School. She met Glenn Overman at a graduation party, they hit it off and started dating. Lois graduated in 1961. She and Glenn were married in March of 1962 at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
They moved to Long Beach, California because Glenn had enlisted in the Navy. While in Long Beach, Lois gave birth to their son John in February 1963.
Lois & Glenn returned to Puyallup shortly before their daughter Cheryl was born in August of 1964. Four years later Kristi was born in October 1968. As a young family they enjoyed camping.
Lois was a homemaker, Room Mom, Girl Scout Leader and Sunday School Teacher.
She entered the work force in 1977 when she took a job at the HiHo Shopping Center in Puyallup where she learned how to run the reader board.
Lois was diagnosed with Cancer in 1977 and she beat it!
From 1984-1998 she worked at the semi-conductor chip plant in Puyallup. In 1999 she went to work for Alaska Airlines. She retired in 2017.
In 2018 she was diagnosed with Cancer again. 2018 was spent recovering from Cancer surgery with Kristi by her side as her caregiver.
In the last few years she enjoyed her backyard space, taking her dog for a walk, and going on short road trips with Cheryl.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Shirley Roland and her husband Glenn.
She is survived by children, John, Cheryl (Steve) and Kristi plus 6 grandchildren; Shaina, Megan, Kaitlyn, Zachery, Brigid and Claire.
Memorial Service to be held on May 23 at 4:00 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 720 W Main, Puyallup WA.
