Lois Elizabeth Burbage Parker, 96, peacefully passed away on February 20, 2024, at her home in Kill Devil Hills. She was born on October 18, 1927, in New Bern, NC to Elmer and Sadie Weeks Burbage. Lois was raised in South Norfolk, VA, and married Ronald Earl "Junior" Parker of Kitty Hawk.
The Parkers built and ran the Tomahawk and Bel Air Motels in Kill Devil Hills. After retiring, they spent much time in their recreational vehicles, traveling with friends and relatives all over the United States.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, and the younger of their two sons, Roger Lee Parker; three brothers, Glanville "Buddy" Burbage, Christopher Burbage, and Freddy Albert Burbage; and two sisters, Nila B. Culpeper and Peggy Wilder.
Surviving is her son, Roy Parker and wife LeVern; daughter-in-law, Beverly Parker; two brothers, Alvin "Pete" Burbage and Tony Burbage; three grandchildren, Adrian Parker and wife Bethan, Earl Parker and wife Danielle, and Ryan Parker; seven great-grandchildren, Jessie Hemphill and husband CJ, Ethan Parker, Molly Bird and husband Aubrey, Andrew Parker, Evey Parker, Liam Parker, and Izabella Parker; and one great-great-grandchild, Jocelyn Bird.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 1, 2024, at the Austin Cemetery in Kitty Hawk, NC.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Lois' name to Adoration Hospice (PO Box 1329, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948) or a charity of your choice.
