Lois Robison Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home - Lewiston on Nov. 3, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Lois "Loie" Jean Smith Robison passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025, surrounded by her family and the staff of Life Care Center in Lewiston, who tenderly cared for her these past six years.

Born on Feb. 1, 1932, in Juliaetta, Loie entered the world as the identical twin sister of Louise Wilson and the youngest child of Harry and Margaret Smith. Raised on the family ranch, she developed a love for family, laughter and togetherness that marked her life. She attended Lapwai High School, where her wit and vibrant personality made her a friend to many.

She was the beloved sister of Irene (Rudy) Parker, Elaine (Sam) Kravitz, William (Marian) Smith, Edwin (Star) Asimakoupoulos and her twin, Louise (Dan) Wilson. She was preceded in death by her cherished son, Charlie Robison, whom she loved more than life itself. Second only to Charlie's birth was the trip she took to Greece with her daddy-a treasured memory she held close to her heart for the rest of her life.

Loie was stunning - the beautiful eyes and the dimples that lit up her smile were unmistakably hers. So beautiful and a bit flirtatious, it was no surprise the suitors lined up in hopes of winning her affection. She loved to sing. She was a champion bowler. Her compassion for the lonely and outcast was perhaps her most beautiful trait.

Over the years, Loie worked for Washington Water Power, managed the El Rancho Motel and worked at the Sacajawea Motor Lodge and Imperial Bowl. She also loved her work at the Valley Christian Center Daycare. Known for her quick humor, she truly was the life of every party. Friends and family will always remember her famous taco dinners and her love of antiques.

To Dan and Louise's family, she was lovingly known as Grandma Loie - a title she wore with pride and joy. She filled every room with laughter, warmth and a touch of sparkle that made everyone feel special. In her final days, her great-great-nieces Lena and Lucy spent many hours by her side, offering sweet bites of watermelon and gently rubbing her hands with her favorite lotion - small acts of tenderness that spoke volumes about the love they shared.

Loie dearly loved (and loved to indulge) her nieces and nephews: Junior, Delores, Cheryl, Ronnie, Stanley, Margaret, Darlene, Billy, Bobby, Benny, Barney, Greg, Marc, Kristy, Debby, Danny, Becky and Nate, as well as great- and great-great-nieces and nephews, too many to name. She was everyone's favorite Aunt Loie.

Loie is finally reunited in Heaven with her family who preceded her in death. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. A celebration of life, followed by a luncheon, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Clarkston Event Center, 841 Sixth St., Clarkston. Cards may be sent c/o 3032 Echo Hills Drive, Lewiston, ID 83501.
