Lois Idella True

Conway, SC- Lois Idella True, 90, of Conway, SC formerly of Cumberland, MD, passed away at her home on Sunday, November 19, 2023 with her daughter by her side.
Born June 21, 1933 in Cumberland, MD, Miss True was the daughter of the late Cloid Roosevelt True and Bosie Zellia (Metz) True. She was also preceded in death by her brother: Cloid Raymond True.
Lois graduated from Allegany High School, Class of 1951 and also graduated from Frostburg State Teachers College, Class of 1958 with her B.S. Degree in Education. Later Lois earned her M.S. Degree in Education. She retired in 1988 from the Allegany County Board of Education with 30 years of service. She taught at Cresaptown and Washington Junior High Schools. After retirement, she became the Supervisor of Student Teachers at Frostburg State University. Lois served as Church Secretary/Treasurer at LaVale Assembly of God beside Rev. Steve Schuessler from 1992 to 2003. In 2007 Lois returned to the classroom, teaching English at Lighthouse Christian Academy for six years. She was also an active member of Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Lonaconing, MD.
Lois is survived by her daughter: Heather True and husband Andrew Crites; her brother: Roy Junior True; her grandchildren: Cameron True, Cayden Kesner, and Mercades Crites; her nieces: Deborah Easton; and Patricia Gomola and husband James; a nephew: Jeffrey True; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St, Cumberland, MD (www.adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com) on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be conducted at Central Assembly of God, 2020 Bedford Street, Cumberland, MD on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor David Schoch and Rev. Steve Schuessler officiating. Friends will also be received at the church 1 hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Calli Wilt for all the assistance provided to Lois during her final years. Also, the family is so appreciative of all the care and love shown to Ms. True by her many friends throughout the years.
