Lola Burt

Lola Mae Burt, the daughter of George and Marjorie (Strohman) Helmich, was born on August 19, 1938, in Estherville, Iowa. She died on May 13, 2025, at Homestead of Estherville at the age of 86 years.
Lola received her education in the Armstrong and Estherville Schools and finished her education with a college class in accounting after having her children. She married Joeseph K. Burt on September 22, 1954, and lived in Estherville since. They wintered in Texas after retirement. Lola was employed at Sunbeam Bread company for a few years and worked for the Estherville Drug Store until she retired.
Lola was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served as a treasurer of the Memorial Fund for years.
Her children are, Kathy (Paul) Hanson of Wahoo, Nebraska and Scott (Tammy) Burt of Armstrong, Iowa; grandchildren, Alison Spath, Amanda Dorman, Amy Walders, Joe Burt, Sarah Diekmann, Ryan Hanson, and Leah Hammond; 19 great-grandchildren, Hunter Walders, Ethan Leach, Landon Burt, Quentin Leach, Gavin Burt, Braden Diekmann, Addison Diekmann, Rhody Burt, Kennedy Burt, Summer Hanson, Elliot Hanson, Conley Bonnicksen, Charlie Spath, Emma Spath, Elijah Hammond, Kennedy Hanson, Caleb Hammond, Abigail Hammond, and Benjamin Hammond; one great-great-grandson, Gunner Burt; her sister, Delores Lappegard; and several nieces and nephews.
She has been preceded in death by her husband, Joe Burt, her parents; sister, Ileen, five brothers, Arnold "Pete", Marvin, Kenny, David and James "Jimmy".
