He was preceded in death by his father: Lonnie Martin Franklin; mother: Dora Elizabeth Guinn; sister: Joy Johnson; brothers: Sammy and Billy Franklin.
He leaves behind his wife: Debra Franklin; granddaughter: Charolette Dotson of the home; sons: Michael and Ashley Franklin of Ottway, Travis and Callie Franklin of Mohawk, Jimmy and Tana Barron of Greeneville, and Joy Beth Ward of Morristown; step children: Herman and Michele Dotson, Ammie and Aaron Rooks of Greeneville, Christe and Jimmy Bailey of Mosheim, and Debra and Wes Burgess of Mosheim; several grandbabies and great grandbabies, nieces, and nephews; and a special friend: Jay Ragon.
The family will receive friends Saturday 12-2 pm at Christian Heritage Church. The funeral will follow with Rev. Bo Ragon and Noah Simpson officiating. Interment will be in Providence Cemetery in Limestone with the Greene County Honor Guard conducting honors. Pallbearers will be Michael Franklin, Travis Franklin, Jimmy Barron, Steven Barron, Charlotte Dotson, Chad Jennings, Shannon Franklin, and Jeremiah Dotson. Honorary pallbearers will be Amedisys Hospice.
