Lonnie Gillespie, age 60, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at his residence.
He was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on August 18, 1962.
To know Lonnie was to know a purity of soul and sweetness of spirit like no other. His eyes would light with pure joy and he would giggle happily at seeing his beloved caregiver family and his guardian. He loved nothing more than to be in his home surrounded by his favorite people and things and eating his favorite foods.
Lonnie spent his days enjoying his favorite activities like watching SpongeBob Squarepants, sitting outside on his deck listening to music, or visiting nearby train tracks to watch the passing trains.
He is survived by Carol Snyder, who was his devoted caregiver of 14 years through Erie Homes for Children and Adults, his guardian, Marnie, Carol's family, his wonderful extended EHCA family, and one sister.
