Lonnie Ray McMillan, left this earth and was reunited with the love of his life, Lana on October 1, 2025, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Born on September 8, 1942, in Ida, Illinois, Lonnie's journey through life was marked by the love of the open range and the warmth of family and friends.

He was the son of the late Alonzo and Eva (Glasco) McMillin, and he carried with him the legacy of their love and the values they instilled in him. Lonnie's life was blessed by the 56 year marriage to the love of his life, Lana (Holifield) McMillan, who predeceased him. Together, they raised their daughter, Kelly, who with her husband Brian Bell of South Lyon, Michigan, gave Lonnie the joy of being a grandfather to Brandon and Blake Bell.

Lonnie's spirit will also live on through his brothers, Jim McMillin of Rector and Stan McMillin of Jonesboro, who stood by him through thick and thin. Though his sisters, Colleen Frick and Erma Jean Dover, have passed on, the memories they shared will forever be a testament to the bonds of family. His nieces, nephews, and other family members will continue to cherish the stories and lessons he imparted.

A true cowboy at heart, he was most happy saddled up and riding his horse or working on his farm. His passion for raising horses was more than a hobby; it was a way of life that brought him immense joy and a sense of purpose. Those who knew Lonnie will fondly remember the many barbecues he hosted, where he was the master of the grill, and laughter and camaraderie were always on the menu.

His faith was as steadfast as his love for the great outdoors. While living in Michigan, Lonnie was very active in his church, serving and supporting his community with a humble heart and an open hand. His commitment to his faith was evident in the way he lived his life, always striving to be a reflection of the love and grace he believed in.

Lonnie Ray McMillan's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the simple pleasures of life. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will forever gallop across the pastures of their memories. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we take solace in knowing that his journey continues beyond the horizon, into the sunset he always rode towards with hope and courage.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday October 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with Bro. Michael Simmons officiating.
