It is said we inherit our family and choose our friends. Lonnie and I chose each other at Hurst Masonic Lodge 53 years ago. I have many fond memories we shared at Hurst Lodge, Grand Lodge at Waco, Moslah Shrine Temple Ft Worth and Hurst Masonic Lodge Golf Tournaments, as team members. We finished with a Rip Roaring 3rd place in 1993! Lonnie claimed it was his local knowledge of the Carswell golf course that made this possible! I could write a book, however, I close with my favorite memory of all. We presented each other with our 50 yr Masonic lapel pins and aprons. We made a little historical talk about each other at that time. Now is the 64,ooo,$ question kids. Whom do you think made the longest speech? Well, it was your dad!!! I believe he thought he was in his pulpit on a Sunday morning service. May God comfort you all, at this time of sorrow. Your dads friend, always and forever!!! Ray G Farris.
