Lonnie was our Sunday school teacher at UMC back in the early 70´s. We were a typical rowdy bunch of teenagers who needed guidance and love. He gave that to us freely and generously. His enthusiasm was infectious. His love of God was primary. After high school, we scattered in the wind, but I been reminded of Lonnie throughout the years. It is no doubt that he was so successful in life, and in love. He will be greatly missed, and forever remembered.

Mr Schneider was one of my teachers at JC. He, as were his social studies colleagues, was an energetic and engaging teacher. I had a number of fun run-ins with them. In one particular moment, I was joking around with some of them and Mr Schneider arranged for an announcement over the classroom intercom directing me to report to the school office (to which my classmates "ooooohed"), only for him to meet me in the hallway to reveal his prank, and then send me back to class pretending like the social studies teachers might have beat me for being too familiar and clowny with them. A great memory of amazing teachers that met students where they were and created a sense of community within which to learn and grow as whole people. I´m sad to hear of his passing. I owe at least a small measure of my growth and progress to him, and likely more than a small amount.
