Lora Irene Hill, born on September 27, 1937, in Worley Hilltop, Kentucky, left this world on January 23, 2026, in the same beloved place that cradled her early years. A devoted daughter of Lewis and Artie (Watson) Davis, she embraced life with a spirit that was illuminated by her ever-present smile and the comforting warmth of her hugs.
Lora worked diligently in housekeeping for the Stearns Post Office and the U.S. Forest Service. Her commitment to her community was further illustrated through her volunteer work with the Reading Grannies Save the Children Program, which showcased her deep love for helping others and nurturing future generations. She was also a member of Pleasant Rock United Baptist Church.
An avid crafter, Lora found joy in making quilt tops and completing jigsaw puzzles. She also held a profound passion for gospel music, often filling the air with melodies that resonated with her faith and joy. Her greatest pride stemmed from her family, where her children and grandchildren were her most cherished accomplishments.
Lora is survived by her sons, Grover Franklin Coffey (Brittany) and Cecil L. Coffey; her daughters, Judy Worley (Dan), Janice Vanover (Ponch), Beth Watkins (Buddy), Alice Craig (Jeff), Sondra Pryor (Rodney), and Sandy Stephens (Chip); her brother, Wendell Davis (Brenda); and her sisters, Hettie Bowman and Wanda Jones. The legacy of her love continues through her 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Lora was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Hill, and her siblings, Robert Nelson Davis, Jimmy Davis, Zella Pennycuff, Maudie Morgan, and Sula Lynch, who will surely welcome her with open arms.
The family to send a special thank you to the Hospice of Lake Cumberland for the wonderful care shown during this time.
