Lora Willene Kasper, 88, of Tipton, MO, passed away at Tipton Oak Manor, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born August 15, 1936, near Latham, MO, the daughter of Warren Buskirk and Lora Veda (McKee) Hutchison, both deceased.
She was married on January 30, 1955, to Dean Edward Kasper (deceased). She is survived by two sons, Wayne Lee Kasper, 68 of Tipton and Larry D. (Chuck) Kasper, 62 of Independence, MO; three grandchildren, Heather Johnson of GA, Angel (Kenny) Geiser of California, MO, and Warren Kasper of Tipton; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Warren (Judy) Hutchison, 82 of Springfield, MO; and five nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Danny R. Kasper of Tipton; one brother, William “Bill” Hutchison, of Kansas City; and two infant brothers and one infant sister.
Willene was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Tipton. She was a former member of the Board of Directors at the Price James Library in Tipton. She was involved with the Tipton City Park Board and Senor Housing board. She was a member of the Grow & Glow Garden Club. She was a reading volunteer at the Tipton Public school and volunteered with the Moniteau County Election Board. She hosted a regular Bridge Club and was an avid golfer with a hole in one to her credit as well as attending the Masters. She was also a founding member of the local Red Hat Society. Dean and Willene were Mizzou fans attending basketball and football games with season tickets for more than 50 years.
Her hobbies included cooking, canning, and sewing. Her residence was a designated Bird Sanctuary. Additionally, she served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was a member of DDT, the Dirty Dozen of Tipton. Willene enjoyed traveling to nearly every state. She is remembered by friends and family in Jasper and Carthage, MO; Kansas; and Colorado.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Tipton, MO. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at First Christian Church in Tipton, MO, with Pastor Shawn Higgins officiating. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Tipton, MO.
In honor of her memory, contributions may be made to First Christian Church, Price James Library, or a charity of the donor's choice.
