Lora Young Simonds (nee Lora Lee Ronning) born on January 16, 1953, departed this world surrounded by friends and family to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 12, 2025.

Lora was born in Lansing, Michigan and was raised in the Detroit suburbs of Livonia and Southfield. She graduated from Southfield Lathrup High School in 1971. Lora had discovered her love for fashion and sewing before she was ten years old and upon graduation from high school attended the Atlanta School of Fashion.

After her time in Atlanta, she moved to Dallas, Texas where she ran a successful handbag company. She returned briefly to Michigan and then to Louisville, Kentucky before returning to Dallas where she worked for many years as a dressmaker. In late 2006 she opened Fabrique Fabrics in the Richardson/Plano area and operated it until 2019.

She is survived by her husband of thirty-five years, Everett B. Simonds Sr., her son David Evan Young, sister-in-law Katherine Young, grandchildren Layton, Barrett, Warren and Katherine Claire, her brother Eric Ronning and his wife Soon of Glendale, Arizona and her stepson Everett B. Simonds, Jr. of Austin, Texas. A celebration of life will be announced after a private ceremony. She will be missed by her friends and family as well as everyone who loves fashion and sewing.
