In Loving Memory of Lora Jean Speight May 11, 1938 – November 2, 2025 A Life Well Lived Lora Jean Speight, age 87, peacefully entered eternal rest in her sleep, surrounded by love and the comfort of a life well lived. Born on May 11, 1938, to Cordiell and Dink Faulk, Lora was one of fifteen children.
From an early age, her beauty, determination, and strength will set her apart. Growing up during the Jim Crow era, she faced many challenges, but her resilience and faith guided her through. Lora worked tirelessly to help provide for her family and took great pride in purchasing her parents' first home in Slocomb, Alabama-a home that became the heart of countless family gatherings and reunions filled with laughter, memories and love. Her dedication and work ethic later took her to Miami, Florida, where she gave birth to her beloved daughter and only child, Kimberly Warmack. Lora's strength, perseverance, and grace were qualities she instilled deeply in her daughter.
No matter where life took her, family always brought her home to Slocomb, where she cherished time spent with her parents and siblings. She would travel back and forth over the years to assist her siblings with caring for her parents. In her later years, she returned there permanently until her transition into Wesley Manor Nursing Home until her death. A Spirit Full of Joy Lora found joy in life's simple pleasures-watching sports, staying informed with CNN, indulging in her favorite ice cream, and spending time with her loyal dog, "Broda."
Even well into her late seventies, she could be found outdoors tending her yard and cutting grass on her riding mower-a true testament to her independent spirit. She loved dancing, laughing, and enjoying the company of those she loved. Her laughter was contagious, her presence unforgettable. Lora found joy in life's simple pleasures-watching sports, staying informed with CNN, indulging in her favorite ice cream, and spending time with her loyal dog, "Broda". Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in knowing that the angels have gently carried her home-free from pain and surrounded by peace.

A Hymn of Comfort "Precious Lord, take my hand, lead me on, let me stand. I am tired, I am weak, I am worn. Through the storm, through the night, Lead me on to the light. Take my hand, precious Lord, Lead me home." Acknowledgment We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support shown to our family. May God bless each of you for the care and compassion you've shared with us during this difficult time.
