He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law: Lottie C. Klyce and father-in-law: Jim Richards.

He met the love of his life, Ida Mae Green, and together they built a life filled with laughter, compassion, and mutual respect. Ida Mae, his devoted and sweet wife, remains a testament to their enduring love story. Her presence by his side was a constant reminder of their unbreakable bond.

Thomas's family was the centerpiece of his life. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his granddaughter, Deborah (Anthony) McNair, whose accomplishments and spirit brought him immense pride.
