Loree Koonsman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Forest Ridge Funeral Home-Memorial Park Chapel on Oct. 14, 2024.
Known by those who loved her as Nadine, Sister, Mom, Grandma and friend. She went home to be with her heavenly family and Jesus on 10/10/24 at Willow Park, Texas. She was 87.
Nadine was born to Revis Burtan Parnell and Vella Nadine Meisenheimer Parnell on 6/26/37 in Sweetwater, Texas. She grew up with 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She graduated from Snyder High School in May 1955.
On December 2, 1955 she married the love of her life, L.D. Koonsman in Fort Worth Texas. They moved to California, and then back home to Texas, where they eventually settled in Weatherford, Texas. Their son Kenneth was born in 1957, son Ricky in 1958, and daughter Susan in 1972.
Nadine loved helping others. As a young woman she worked as a secretary at Mrs. Baird's Bread. She also began a lifetime of serving others by working as a caregiver for the elderly, a Meals on Wheels volunteer, and for ten years she was a victim advocate for the Parker County Rape Crisis Center.
As a mother, she was very involved in her children's schools and was instrumental in getting laws passed in Parker County that protected children from exposure to adult publications in public places.
Nadine was a wonderful Mother, but an even better Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Her family brought her so much joy and she would do anything for them.
In her last years, her family grew to include her Clear Fork Assisted Living and Memory Care family. She lived there for almost 8 years and had some very special caregivers. Her Children and Grandchildren would like to thank them for all the love they gave her in the later years of her life.
Nadine is survived by her children, son Kenneth (Shannon), son Rick (Darlene), daughter Susan (Tom,) Grandchildren, Amy (Cooper), Kelvin (Tracey,) Rachel (Chad), Destiny and (T.J), Bailee, Braden (Avery), extra blessings Great Grandchildren, Cooper, Kyle, Colton and Delilah, and one brother Richard.
Nadine, Mom, Grandma, You will be missed and we love you.
