It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Melissa Marie Henrietta Dossey, age 42. Faithful Christian, Warrior Mother, Loyal Wife, Beloved Daughter, Favorite Sister, and Devoted Friend among many other wonderful qualities over the course of her life. Melissa won her place in the Kingdom after her battle with breast cancer.

She was born October 23, 1983 in Bedford, TX and joined our Lord in His Kingdom on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at 10:10 p.m. with a smile on her face reflecting her complete certainty that she was arriving in her true home.

She grew up in Bedford and graduated from LD Bell High School in 2002. She attended Baylor University in Waco, TX where she gained her degree in Education in 2006. She then achieved her dream to be a classroom teacher and was beloved by her fellow teachers and administrators as well as her students and their families in the DFW area for 18 years.

She worked at AIMPAC Dance Studios for the last 2 years and was dear to all who knew her both professionally and personally. A kinder friend was never had. She is survived by her devoted husband Dale, and beautiful children Henry, and Lucy who continue to reside in Hurst, TX. Her mother and father, David and Jackie Henrietta of NRH, TX. Her brother Bradd and his wife Lisa Waggoner of Allen, TX. Her sister Stacey and husband Jeff Stewart of Amarillo, TX and their sons, Ben and Sam. Her brother Joe Waggoner of Scottsdale, Arizona and his wife Micaela Lozano of Coppell, TX. Her brother Rob and his wife Becky Waggoner of Tennessee and many cousins and extended family.

Celebration of Life Details:
Date: Saturday, January 17, 2026 Time: 3:00–5:00 p.m.
Location: AIMPAC Studios, 8245 Precinct Line Rd, Suite 190, NRH, TX 76182.
Attire Request: To honor Melissa, we kindly ask attendees to wear bright, joyful colors that reflect her spirit. In keeping with Melissa's wishes, we ask that attendees refrain from wearing pink ribbons. Donation Option: In lieu of flowers, her family shared that, if anyone feels moved to do so, contributions may be made toward Henry and Lucy's education fund, in accordance with Melissa's wishes. Donations can be sent via Venmo to her husband, Dale Dossey. Search @Henry-Lucy on venmo app (under Dale Dossey).
