Loreen Helen Poe

Loreen Helen Poe of Charles Town, WV, left this earth to be with the Lord on January 12, 2026. She was born on August 19, 1952, to William Madison and Jean Marion Poe, in Trenton, New Jersey. Lori spent her early years in New Hope, and Langhorne, Pennsylvania, before the family moved to Northern Virginia, in 1955. She was a graduate of Falls Church High School in Virginia.

Lori worked for the State Department in Washington, D. C. during the Carter Administration. She often spoke of how much she enjoyed her time there and her ability to be able to travel. In 1994 Lori moved to Charles Town, WV where she worked as a receptionist for DALB, Inc. in Kearneysville, WV, for 30 years. She often spoke of her fondness for the company and the wonderful people she worked with.

Lori was funny and smart! She was very generous and spread that generosity to animals and people. Lori would visit care facilities and spend time with the residents and sit with the dying who had no one.

Lori loved to play golf. She spoke affectionately of her golf friends in her community who called her "Putter Poe." A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Lori.

Lori is survived by her sister, Gail, and her husband Bill, of California, nephew Aaron Brown, niece Tiffany Meis, and four grandnephews and a grandniece.
