Lorelei Marie Palmer

Lorelei (Laurie) M. Palmer, age 80, of Shakopee, MN, entered eternal life on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at All Saints Senior Living in Shakopee.

Lorelei was born on August 10, 1945, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Frank and Lenore (Matiasek) Laplaca. She attended Immaculate Catholic High School in Chicago and participated in Civil Air Patrol. After high school, in 1964 she married Ron Lechner, raised four children and remained married for the next 20 years. She primarily took care of her children and worked jobs around the Chicago area until eventually moving to St. Cloud, Minnesota in 1979. Although eventually divorcing, the couple remained close friends throughout their lifetime.

Lorelei graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1993 with a masters degree in Psychology, and spent the next 20 years as a family therapist. Lorelei's love for nature and animals led to many pets throughout her life. Dog, Cats, Fish, Birds and many more made their way to Lorelei. A love of horses as well followed her throughout her life at different times owning and riding. A true artist at heart, she enjoyed painting, drawing, crocheting, sewing, stain glass, jewelry making, photography, writing, poetry, and much more. Always having an eye for the beautiful things in the world and recreating them thru her art. Her love of house plants was always prevalent with each home she had filled with beautiful greenery and flowers. Teaching others about art, animals, nature, plants, and being a listening ear whenever needed was her true gift. But above all, Lorelei loved spending time with her children, family and loved ones. Always finding a way to bring laughter and hope to loved ones, and bringing light to those that needed it. Always trusting in God, her Catholic faith got her thru many difficult times throughout life.

Survivors include her son, Ronald "Joe" Lechner; daughter, Cheryl (Andrew) Dahl; grandchildren, Brycen (Maria) Lechner, Nolan (Madisyn) Lechner, Harmony (Tim) Holland, Joshua Holland, Jacob Harvey (Leslie Arias), and Grace Dahl; great-grandchildren, Calvin, Araya, Jax, J.P, and Jaden; sisters, Linda, Lorrinda, Loretta and Judy; brothers, Richard and Frank. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Lynda Zambrano and Catherine Barbre; and her former husband and father of her children, Ronald Lechner.

Funeral services will be held, at a later date, at the Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne, in the Church of St. Mark, 350 Atwood St. South, Shakopee.

Lorelei would have preferred memorials to Quiet Oaks Hospice House located in St. Cloud, MN.
