Lorelei Andrea Sharbono passed away at her home in Menomonie on February 14, 2025. Lorelei was able to stay in her home with the help of Hospice, her sons and sister.
Lorelei was born to Arthur J. and Gladys (Lewis) Nelson Sr. on January 17, 1934 in Boyceville, WI. The family also lived in the Wheeler area.
While working for her aunt, Gwen Doyle, at Gwen's store in South Minneapolis, she met her future husband, James Sharbono. They were married on August 24, 1949. To this union 2 sons were born, Richard and Jeffrey. The family moved to Minneapolis where she lived until retiring. Lorelei worked at Tension Envelope
for 34 years and also at the Hennepin County Service Center. She would go to
the Service Center when done at Tension.
After her retirement, Lorelei moved to Wisconsin and lived with her sister, Betsy, and her husband, Jerry, for 7 years. There she enjoyed the freedom of country living surrounded by family. She later bought a condo from her cousin in Menomonie and lived there until her passing. While living in Menomonie she
volunteered at the Senior Center, acted as treasurer for the Cannery Estates Condominium Association, and recorder for Tops. Lorelei was well loved and respected. Always willing to jump in and help.
Lorelei is survived by her sons, Richard Sharbono, Jeff (Kathy) Sharbono, sister Betsy (Jen-y) Malean and many grandsons, granddaughters, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lorelei is preceded in death by her parents, husband James, and brother Art Jr.
Funeral services will be in the spring by Olson's Funeral Home in Menomonie.
