Loren L. Boll

Loren L. Boll, 72, of Litchfield, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025, at Prairie Senior Cottages in Willmar. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday June 6, 2025 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lake Ripley Cemetery. Following the burial there will be light refreshments served at the funeral home.

Loren Louis Boll was born on January 22, 1953, in Litchfield, Minnesota, the son of Lloyd and Erma (Hoefs) Boll. He grew up in Litchfield and graduated from Litchfield High School with the Class of 1971.

On August 13, 1980, Loren eloped with the love of his life, Kathy Mallak, in Sturgis, South Dakota. Together they lived in Hutchinson and Grove City before settling in rural Litchfield, next to the family farm on a hill with one of the most scenic views in Meeker County. Loren took great pride in that home, where he spent many peaceful hours watching wildlife and enjoying nature. He and Kathy shared 18 years of marriage.

Loren was a talented and dedicated truck driver, proudly owning and operating his own rig while traveling across the country. Off the road, he embraced the simple joys of life- gardening, bonfires, camping, and taking road trips on his motorcycle or in his Corvette. He had a deep love for the outdoors and a soft spot for animals, especially the deer that visited his backyard. Loren was also known for his cooking, his eye for outdoor photography, and his skill in automotive refinishing. He generously shared the vegetables from his garden with family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Tamara (Damian) Kuiper of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Mike (Heather) Boll of Grove City, Minnesota; grandchildren, Sara and Anna Snegosky; siblings, Alan (Laurie) Boll, David Boll, and Debra (Darrel) Broten; sisters-in-law, Linda (Kent) Leske, Ann Mallak; brothers-in-law, Michael Peterson, Tom (Cindy) Mallak; many nieces and nephews; his special friend, Nita Nurmi; and his beloved cat, Bouncer.

Loren was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Boll; his parents, Lloyd and Erma Boll; his sister, Lynn Peterson; his father- and mother-in-law, Arthur and Rose Mallak; his brother-in-law, Art Mallak; and his niece, Sara Mallak.

Loren will be remembered for his quiet strength, generous spirit, and the joy he found in life's everyday beauty.
