Lorene Brooks

Lorene Brooks, 90, of Norton, VA went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 4, 2025 with family by her side.
As a young woman, Lorene was a telephone operator in Bristol, VA. Later in life, she retired from JC Penny in Sandusky, OH as the head seamstress. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a devoted Christian and Sunday School teacher for 50 years. She was a beacon of love and grace, shaping lives through her kindness, prayers, and unwavering faith. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Lorene is survived by her two sons, Jeff Brooks of Norton, VA and Arlie (Tammy) Brooks of Monroeville, OH; brother, Harold (Shelby) Evans of Coeburn, VA; and her sister, Teresa Evans of Coeburn, VA; and a host of her beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Viola (Hensley) Evans of Sandy Ridge; her husband of 53 years, Bobby M. Brooks; her daughters, Barbara Marshall and Angela Shepherd; and grandson, Bryon Pfirsch. In addition, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Caephus, Kenneth, and Arlie Evans and Helen Hummel.
Friends may call on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Church, 4013 Columbus Ave, Sandusky, OH with Pastor Dustin Ours officiating. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH. A celebration of her remarkable life will be held at a later date in Norton, VA.
