Lorene was a longtime resident of Durant, Oklahoma. She married Ottis Mitchell on September 1, 1949 in Bonham, Texas.
She was a member of Utica Baptist Church and loved her church. She also loved to sew. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Rose Lee (Boyd) and Tommy Williams; husband Ottis Mitchell; daughter Debbie Damron; sister Ruth Jones; brother George Williams; and great grandson Silas Don Mitchell.
Survivors include her sons Danny Mitchell of Durant, Oklahoma, Gerry Mitchell and wife Connie of Durant, Oklahoma; Paul Mitchell of Durant, Oklahoma; daughters Paula Hestily and husband Tommy of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Pam Harrison and husband Terry of Mead, Oklahoma; grandchildren Gregory Don Mitchell and wife Linda, Sara Billings and husband Lance, Veronica Rohrlack and husband Michel, Chad Damron, Todd Damron and wife Amy, Brenton Knight and wife Melanie, Lisa Peterson and husband Greg, Adam Trent and wife Tamara, Lauren Martin and husband Bud, Stephanie Campbell and husband Chris, Danny Micheal Swafford and wife Gina, Robert Conner and wife Carrie, Tennille Dukes; numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews as well as other extended family and friends.
A family visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday, September 8, 2025 at the Gordon Center, 305 N 2nd Ave. Durant, Oklahoma.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Utica Baptist Church, 16 S. Martin Ln. in Utica, Oklahoma with Bro. John Heath officiating. A graveside will follow at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma.
Eric Peterson, Kaleb Mitchell, Alek Damron, Kelyn Damron, Tyler Damron, Austin Mitchell, Braxton Trent, and Zane Trent will serve as pallbearers.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Gordon Funeral Home, 221 N. 3rd, Durant, 580-916-9090
