Alice Lorene Prinz, 88, of Taylor passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Friday, November 14, 2025.
Lorene Prinz was born October 18, 1937, in Elgin, Texas to Theo and Beda (Hobbs) Smith. She grew up with a younger sister, Doris (Smith) Lane. She married her high school sweetheart Ray Donald Prinz on February 13, 1954, with whom she spent 54 wonderful years. Their family was blessed with four children, Rhonda, Terri Lynn (deceased), Kendall, and Jody. Other than her family, Lorene was proudest of the time she dedicated to St. Paul Child Development Center in Taylor, where she served as Director. Through her thirty-six years of service, she touched the lives of countless children whom she welcomed with open arms.
Lorene is preceded in death by her parents, Theo and Beda Smith; her husband, Ray Donald Prinz; and her daughter, Terri Lynn. She is survived by her three children: Rhonda Aikey of Taylor; Kendall Prinz and wife, Lynn of Victoria; Jody Prinz and wife, Sue of Granger; sister, Doris Lane of Watauga; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00pm on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Providence Funeral Home (Taylor). Her funeral will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, November 24, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church (Taylor). A reception will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Fellowship Hall.
