Lorene Schrader, lovingly known as "Nana," passed from this life on July 5, 2025, just days before her 85th birthday. Born on July 11, 1940, Lorene lived a full and generous life marked by faith, love for her family, and a spirit that never slowed down.
Lorene was a spry, active woman who found joy in life's simple pleasures-garage sales, playing cards, and cooking meals that brought comfort and warmth to everyone she loved. Her chili, grilled cheese sandwiches, and homemade soups were legendary, and her extra cheesy scrambled eggs-especially loved by her granddaughter Erica-are a family favorite that will be remembered fondly. Whenever country music echoed through the house, you knew Lorene was in the kitchen.
A devoted football fan, Lorene cheered equally for the Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma State Cowboys. When football wasn't on, she enjoyed watching 7th Heaven and old westerns, especially those starring John Wayne.
Lorene worked for the State of Oklahoma as a Tax Auditor in the Motor Vehicle Department. She was a hard worker and a devoted homemaker who always made sure her family was cared for. Her generosity knew no bounds-whether it was financial help, a warm meal, or a listening ear, she gave freely to anyone in need.
She loved meals out at Blue Moon Chinese Restaurant, Grandy's, and made special trips for Taco Mayo's taco salad. But her greatest joy came from time spent with family-especially as "Nana" to her beloved granddaughters, Jessica and Erica, and later to her great-grandchildren, whom she adored.
Lorene's life was centered around her deep faith in her Lord and Savior, and that love overflowed to those around her. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose caring and giving spirit touched many.
Lorene is survived by her daughter, Grace Sherene Nauber and her husband James; granddaughters Jessica Heinen and Erica Bray; great-grandchildren Meghan Heinen, Arya Bray, and Grayson Bray; along with a host of other loving family and friends.
"Nana" will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
