Eric Puente Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynlee Mae Chapel & Event Center on Jul. 14, 2025.
Eric Elias Puente was born on February 4, 1980, and passed from this life on July 10, 2025. He was a man deeply rooted in his community, with a fierce love for his family and friends that shaped the way he lived each day. A car enthusiast through and through, Eric especially loved classic cars and took great pride in the '72 Chevy Cheyenne that once belonged to his father & the Chevy Impala that once belonged to his brother & Oldsmobile that once belonged his grandma Mary. He was also a devoted boxing coach - more than that, it was a passion that defined a major part of his life. As a co-founder of Azteca now known as Rival Boxing Gym, Eric found fulfillment not only in training but in mentoring others who shared his love for the sport. The gym became a second home, and its community became family.
Eric had a true passion for grilling and eating. He was known to fire up the grill at all hours, often preparing meats when most would be asleep. No matter the time, he found joy in grilling food for those he loved, and his favorite meats to cook were porkchops, pork steak, chicken legs carne asada, & smoked sausage
Above all, Eric was a protector and a caretaker. He stood up for those who couldn't stand for themselves, always quick to offer guidance, lend an ear, or make time for someone in need. He found purpose in caring for others-his children, his family, his neighbors, and his gym community.
Eric cherished his role as a father and took pride in mentoring his children. He was a constant source of support and wisdom, always striving to be present and involved. After long days, he found peace in simple pleasures-cracking open a cold beer, watching a movie, watching boxing with his grandson or listening to music.
He dedicated 22 years of service to Tinker Air Force Base, starting as a jet engine mechanic and rising to become a union representative. Eric brought the same drive, determination, and characteristic orneriness to his workplace that he brought to every aspect of his life.
Eric is survived by his beloved children: Eric Bryan and his partner Hope Martin, Eric "Moses" Puente, David Puente and his wife Briana Silva, and Cesar Puente. He also leaves behind his grandson, Luciano Puente, and was eagerly awaiting the birth of another grandchild in December. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Puente; his brother, Joseph Puente; his sister, Crystal Do, and her husband, Michael Do; his aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and a lot of cousins and his loyal dogs, Simba and Niya Tien Do.
He is preceded in death by his father, David Michael Puente; his brother, Patrick Soliz; and his grandmother, Victoria Soliz, grandmother Mary Lopez & grandmother Soledad Lopez,.
Eric's legacy is one of love, loyalty, strength, and community. He will be remembered not only for what he did, but for how he made people feel-seen, heard, and cared for. He lived life fully and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him
