Lorenzo Weigel Obituary
He retired from CSX Railroad after 40 years of service.
He served in the Merchant Marines, and was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, a 4th degree Knights of Columbus and a member of the seniors club at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Peter the Apostle, and NARVE Unit 41.
Dutch was a volunteer for Actors Theatre, Kentucky Center for the Arts, and St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 years, Mary Evelyn Weigel, his parents, Perciful and Agatha Weigel; sisters, Marie Ide and Elaine Strain; brothers, Joseph, Earl and Lee Weigel.
Dutch is survived by daughters, Judy Korte (Bob), June Downes (Kenny), and Janet Slayton (Mike); sisters, Rita Kugler, Mary McMichael; brother, Richard Weigel; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
His Funeral Mass will be 11a.m. Tuesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1925 Lewiston Drive with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West to follow.
Visitation will be 2:00p.m.-7p.m. Monday at Ratterman Southwest Funeral Home, 4832 Cane Run Road.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus.

Judy, June and Janet...thinking of you and fondly remembering our times together in Louisville long ago. Your parents were wonderful. I'm sorry that we won't be able make it on Tuesday. Love and prayers to you from your cousin in Arizona.
