Loretta Ann Cavendish (Mitchell), left this world surrounded by her family on July 11, 2024, after multiple short illnesses.
She was born October 1, 1949 to her proud parents, Henry and Virgie Mitchell.
She grew up in Ansted and graduated as an Ansted Highlander. After high school, she lived in different places including Huntington and Florida. Home is where her heart was though, along with her high school sweetheart Steve. They then married and settled down here in Ansted where their love story started and continued for many many years.
I firmly believe everyone who knew Loretta loved her. Her family came first, always. She spent the majority of her life as a stay-at-home Mom/MeMaw/MiMi and she embraced that role fully. She loved to cook and bake. Filling their house with family and then filling their bellies made her so happy. If you have ever sampled her "MiMi cake" you know the baking skills she mastered over the years. She made so many cakes filled with the joy she had while making them. Other hobbies included cross-stitching and quilting with her "quilt girls." We will forever treasure the pieces she made.
She lived her life looking at the silver lining in all of life's situations sharing that view with those around her. The amount of kindness she had was infinite. We learned so much from her while she was here and will continue to pass along her kind caring ways.
She is preceded in death by her by her Father, Henry Mitchell, Mother, Virgie Mitchell, Father-in-law, Nelson Cavendish, Mother-in-law, Elsie Cavendish, Uncle, Frank Campbell, Sister, Tina Mitchell, Brother, Henry Clay Mitchell Jr., Brothers-in-law, Monty Boley,Steve Kessler and Larry Johnson.
Those left to carry on her memory are Steve Cavendish (Stephanie, RC, Liam, Tessa, Rozzlee Ellis), Sherry & Eric Jenkins, Melanie & Austin Hite), Linda Mitchell (Keith Donald and Lisa Clarke), Regina Kessler (Sarah & Brittany Kessler, Jessi & Tim Arnott, Emma), Lois Boley (Brian, Brandi, Sophie Boley, David, April, Amelia, Hayden Boley)
Kathy Mitchell, Suzy Johnson & Terry Wade (Bernie & Deborah Johnson, Aimee, Kenny, Olivia, Fallon, Ava, Gideon, Bragg), Eddie, Julia, Lara Beth Perry, Taylor, Madison, Levi, Elsie Price), Jennifer, Josie, Addy Salvatore. Also her beloved cat Leroy Cavendish.
Per her wishes, there will be no public service or wake. Per her wishes a private family ceremony will be held at a later date.
