Loretta A. "Tootsie" Cruz, 87, of Apalachin, NY, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025, at home surrounded by family. Loretta was predeceased by her mother, Kathleen Cowan; brother, Jack Harriger; sister, Erma Juehlen; grandson, Jacob Gates; great-grandson, Robert Kanazawich. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Diego; three sons, Fred Scott, David Scott, Michael Scott; daughter and son-in-law, Rhoda and Fred Neal; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Martin), Alan, Mikel (Mark), Casey, Theresa, Anna, Fred Jr, Travis (Kristin); several great-grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Hiwana and Raymond Atchison, Wilma Becker; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Hazel Harriger; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She formally worked at Universal Instruments and Dovatron. Famous for making her cakes, wedding cakes, and kolaches. The family will receive friends Friday, April 4, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. with funeral services immediately following at 12:00 Noon at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, NY. Burial will follow in the Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell, NY. "I'm French and I'm Indian. I'm a lover and I'm a fighter." Memorial contributions may be made in Loretta "Tootsie" Cruz's memory to the Apalachin Emergency Squad, 230 Pennsylvania Ave, Apalachin, NY.
