Loretta C. Duffy

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Loretta C. Duffy, a cherished lifelong resident of Chester, who peacefully departed this life on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Stone Pear Pavilion. Loretta, born on October 10, 1934, was the beloved daughter of the late Mayberry and Katherine Loughley Duffy. She dedicated her career to serving as an insurance clerk at Quaker State and later at Ergon Oil Refinery. From a young age, Loretta was deeply rooted in her strong Catholic faith. She found community and purpose as a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester, where she actively participated in the Ladies Guild and the choir, sharing her vibrant spirit with all around her. A proud graduate of Chester High School, Class of 1952, she left a lasting impact on those who knew her. Loretta is survived by several loving cousins and her dear church family, who will miss her warmth and kindness dearly. A Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be held in her honor at Sacred Heart on Tuesday, October 21, at 12:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 11:30 a.m. Following the service, she will be laid to rest beside her parents at Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. to share their memories and support one another during this difficult time.
