I am heartbroken about my dearest longest best friend. We sat side by side at Sears Roebuck on W. 31 st NYC. We so enjoyed one another's companionship. We traveled to the Bahamas for a memorable vacation. We have joined hands, mostly long distance as I have lived on the West Coast for most of my years. She visited me in San Leandro, Ca. and again in Arizona. She, my husband and I had a beautiful time of friendship. Our last visit together was six years ago when she visited with me (now a widow) in Oregon. We spoke non stop. I know her journey in life had many obstacles but she accepted each as God's Will and courageously moved forward often with a sense of humor. I remember well my first visit to her family home in The Bronx. She was remarkable, what can I say, dear friend except I know the Lord said "Welcome home dear and faithful servant." I miss you sorely. (I sent Loretta a text message on Nov. 11 and received no response. Again yesterday and today a phone call to share Christmas wishes, asking her to call. Then an email. Finally I tried to research her sister, Catherine's, telephone number and saw this Obituary. All she took with her to Heaven is LOVE. She is in God's embrace.
I miss you not being on this earth. You are so needed. I love you Loretta.

I cannot believe what I'm reading. I last spoke with Loretta on her birthday in October. I always called her on her birthday. I sent her emails in between to let her know I was thinking about her. My last email was 2 days ago. Now I know why I didn't get an answer back.
Loretta was a fighter. She knew more about herself and her health better than any medical professional. It made me feel that she could live forever, no matter what she was going through.
I first met Loretta at Simplicity Pattern company in the seventies. We traveled to Europe together back then to visit a mutual friend from NY. We always stayed in touch even when she moved from N.Y. Loretta remained a good friend in spite of the miles between us and I always got to see her when she visited family in N.Y.
Loretta was always joyous. She'd light up any room she walked into. She had a beautiful smile. She was smart. I could go on and on and still not cover all
that was exceptional about her.
She always told me good things about one of her nieces who was attending college in Manhattan, not far from where I live. She loved her family.
Even though I may never see Loretta again in this life, I'll forever have lovely memories of her.
My sincere condolences to Loretta's family.
