Loretta J (Machamer) Peters."She took Christ's hand and walked toward the light on such a day."
Born September 9, 1943, to the late Roland and Elsie (Hummel) Machamer and proceeded in death by her late husband Raymond S. (Chip) Peters, her brother Robert Machamer Sr., her sister Barbara Lentz, and stepson Gary Peters and step-grandson Jared Peters. Loretta graduated from Williamstown High School in 1961. She was an active member of her beloved Red Hat Raggedy Dames, enjoying the high-spirited lunches and friendships she found among these great ladies. She is a 50 -year member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #115. Included in her favorite activities were sharing meals and celebrating special events with friends and family.
She is survived by her daughters Elizabeth (Enck) Ramsey, wife of Andrew Ramsey of Jim Thorpe; Gale (Enck) Aho and companion Matthew Boltz of Richland; Barbara (Enck) Ranson, wife of Robert Ranson of Wallingford; and Virginia (Enck) Keppley, wife of Kirk Keppley of Myerstown. She is also survived by three stepsons, Scott Peters and wife Barbara, Douglas and wife Colleen, Bradley J. and wife Lisa, and daughter Debra and husband Michael Wealand, 16 grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 10 at 2 pm at Calvary Church Memorial Cemetery in Wiconisco, PA, followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jared S. Peters Memorial Scholarship Fund in the care of Tulpehocken High School Administrative Office, 27 Rehrersburg Rd. Bethel, Pa. 19507.
