Loretta L. Piunti

Piunti, Loretta L. nee Blume, 69, of Cathedral City, CA, formerly of Crete, IL, passed away on Oct. 18, 2021 in Palm Springs, CA after battling bone cancer. Beloved wife of 50 years of Lawrence "Larry" Piunti, dear sister of Richard (Carol Ann) Blume of Beecher, Lois Blume of Matteson, sister-in-law of: Joe (Patti Piunti) Piunti, Sr. of Chicago Heights, Bob (Sandy) Piunti of FL. Aunt of Randy (Kim) Blume, Nancy Blume, Rob (Paula) Piunti, late Joe (Carla) Piunti, Jr., Jeff (Amy) Piunti, Jeanna (Rodney) Dwyer. Great Aunt and dear friend of many. Born to the late Reinhart and late Loraine Blume, Loretta grew up in Beecher and graduated from Beecher H.S. Class of 1969. Loretta and Larry married on Nov. 6, 1971. She worked for many years at Calumet Steel and retired from Palm Springs H.S. where she worked as a receptionist. Loretta enjoyed bowling, golf and gardening. Services will be held in both CA and IL- Visitation Sun., Oct. 24 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Wiefels and Son Funeral Home in Palm Springs, CA. Funeral, Mon. Oct. 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Indio, CA. Visitation will be held on Thur., Oct. 28 from 2-9:00 p.m. and Fri., Oct 29, 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL. Interment following at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee, IL. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
