Loretta S. Satterfield, age 82, of Plainfield passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025. She was born on July 20, 1943, in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Wilfred and Stella Huffman Ufheil. She married Gary Satterfield on July 3, 1965. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in Huntington and obtained her Bachelor of Education from Marshall University where she was a cheerleader for the football and basketball teams. Loretta was also a member of the Tri Sigma sorority, ROTC Queen and heavily involved in student government. She then obtained her Master of Education from Indiana State University. She taught for two years in special education at IPS School Number 9 and had a 40-year teaching career at Mill Creek School Corporation.

She was involved in the Plainfield Jayshees, assisting with the Jr. Miss Pageant for several years. She was also very active in supporting youth sports. She ran the Plainfield Junior Golf program at the Elks Club for several years. Her free time was happily spent on her girls' trips and spending time with her retired teachers' group who named themselves "The Birds." Countless hours were spent on the sidelines with Gary cheering on the boys and, later, the grandchildren.

Loretta was a member of the St. Susanna Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Satterfield; sons, Brian (Deb) Satterfield of Fishers and Mark (Bonnie) Satterfield of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Destiny, Mark Jr., Brooke, Nolan, Zoe, Aubrey, and Blair. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Billy Ufheil.
