Loretta Ann Smock
Was born January 27, 1928 and died March 2, 2024 in Dayton, Ohio.
Loretta was the wife of late Robert Louis Smock of Dayton, preceded in death by mother and
father, Philomena (Putz) of Miamisburg, Ohio and Jeremiah Sullivan, originally from the County Cork of Ireland, also preceded in death her sister Margaret Brandell and her brothers: William, Gerald, Jim and Richard "Woody" Sullivan, all of Dayton.
Her children include Karen (Jeff) Hemker of IL, Mark (Marilyn Kern) Smock of AZ and Connie (Jeff) Penrod of KY. Her grandchildren are Tony Hemker, Gary Hemker, Amy Wengel, Natalie Penrod, and Quent Penrod.
Loretta's Great Grandchildren are Kaylee Hemker, Christopher Hemker, Cassi Hemker, Sydney Hemker, Abigail Wengel, Zachary Hemker, Jace Hemker, Bob Wengel, Grant Maschinot and Grady Penrod.
Loretta always offered her assistance as a volunteer at: St Joseph Treatment Center, The Glen
at St Joesph and St Lukes Catholic Church in Beavercreek for many years.
Loretta was a giving, loving and an active person: She was President of the Rosary Alter
Society at St Luke's, and she also led many organizations at St. Joseph's Orphanage of Dayton. As a young child she was raised at the St. Joseph Orphanage of Dayton in the 1930's "The Orphanage" as she would call it.
Loretta was loving to many neglected children throughout Dayton for many years. We all will miss her so

Family and Friends are asked to meet and assemble on Thursday, March 7th at 10:30 am, at
the Newcomer Cremation and Funeral Services, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439,
where we will follow the hearse in procession to Cavalry Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Drive,
Dayton, OH 45409. We will have final prayers and blessings before the burial.
