Lori Jean Doherty, 65, resident of Green Bay, WI passed away unexpectedly on Saturday March 5th, 2022 due to complications from Covid 19 while surrounded by her family. She was born on February 5, 1957 to Loretta (Scray) and Eugene VanDenElzen De Pere, WI.
She graduated from West De Pere high school in 1975. Shortly after she met the love of her life while working at A&W in De Pere and married Timothy Doherty on July 23, 1983 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in De Pere, WI. They have shared over 38 years of marriage together.
They have three children, Adam, Allison (Sackda) Chittavong and Tyler (Jeannie) Doherty.
Lori was an amazing mother who always put her family first. She was always present at every school function, concert and sporting event, cheering for her children while gleaming with pride and joy. Throughout the years she volunteered her time by helping with field trips, serving as part of the school PTO, donating baked goods for bake sales, chaperoning school dances, and running concessions for the sports her children were involved in. As a mother, she never missed a beat!
After working at NWTC for more than 30 years in printing services she retired in 2015 and began babysitting her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She had a special bond with each of them. If she was not with her grandchildren you would find her showing off photos or videos to anyone who would look. She couldn't go more than a day without seeing or face timing with her little grand babies!
If you truly knew Lori you knew she was selfless. She always put others before herself and was there when you needed her the most. She continuously showed support for charities she was compassionate about. She would give you the shirt off her back or her last dollar if needed. She truly had a heart of gold!
She enjoyed scrapbooking, card making, stamping, baking, family game nights, gardening and feeding the neighborhood birds. Most importantly she enjoyed time spent with her loved ones and close friends.
She is survived by her husband Timothy Doherty; children Allison (Sackda) Chittavong & Tyler (Jeannie) Doherty; grandchildren Lilliana, Owen & Malaina Chittavong and Marsali Doherty.
Mother Loretta VanDenElzen, Siblings Lynn (John) Aland, Lois Craanen, Leah (Dave) Kaster, Lisa VanDenElzen, Lorn (Denise) VanDenElzen, Lani (Todd) Rybicki, & Luan Flom.
She is further survived by her husband's siblings Dennis (Cathy), Verne (Barb), Kevin (Marlene), and Wayne (Judy) Doherty, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lori was preceded in death by her infant son: Adam Doherty, her father; Eugene VanDenElzen, brother Lane VanDenElzen, nephew Christopher Miller, brother in law Roland Craanen, father & mother in law Leland & Rita Doherty; sister in law Pauline Doherty and her loving pets Sam & Midnight.
