Lori Endris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Homes and Crematory - Washington St. on Dec. 13, 2025.
Mother, friend, empath, lawyer, foodie, judge, environmental champion, and meth queen of Indiana, Lori Kyle (Clyngenpeel) Endris, 63, of Columbus, IN, escaped this mortal coil peacefully on November 18, 2025. Lori was born in Lawrence, Indiana on November 23,1963 to Jeannie and Raymond Clyngenpeel. She made her quiet entrance into the family as the third of three.
Lori is blessed to have raised and adopted Sam and Clare from China. Sam is a PhD student in Special Education at Indiana University, and Clare is a Graphic Designer at Vera Bradley.
Lori was passionate about her roles as Environmental Law Judge for the Office of Environmental Adjunction and Director of Drug Lab Cleanup (aka the "Meth Queen") for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. She has been an attorney for 30 years with a practice concentrated on environmental law. Since 2014, Kyle has been the Director of the State's Qualified Inspector Program.
Everyone who knew Lori knew how much she loved cooking and baking for others, gardening, watching movies, remembering random facts, reading, and precious Theo. Sam and Clare always loved her Asian fusion dishes, meatloaf, corn beef and cabbage for New Years and St. Patrick's Day, chicken noodle soup, cucumber salad, and grilled chicken with corn on summer days.
At home, Lori cherished simple, peaceful moments: sitting in her favorite chair with a good book while one of her pets nestled beside her or unwinding with a cozy movie night alongside her children. Some of her happiest memories were made in the everyday moments – dancing around the house to music they loved, laughing through board games, and snuggling up for family movies. These joyful, ordinary moments filled her home with warmth and reflected the deep love she had for her kids.
Lori will always be remembered as a loving mother, loyal friend, and empathetic individual. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her. Lori was preceded in death by Raymond, Jeannie, and Lisa Clyngenpeel and is survived by Samuel and Clare Endris and Riley Clyngenpeel.
Services were entrusted to Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home. Online condolences may be shared with the Endris family at barkesweaverglick.com.
