A bright light has dimmed with the passing of the generous and witty Lori McCoach-Garton. Born on October 9, 1967, in Coffeyville, Kansas, Lori's contagious laughter and reliable nature made her a joy to be around, touching many lives throughout her 58 years.

Lori was a woman of many endearing qualities, but her generosity stood out the most. She gave not only in material ways, but also in kindness, understanding, and love. As a dedicated Front-End Manager in a retail grocery store for 35 years, her remarkable wit and reliability made her a favorite among customers and coworkers alike. She was always ready with a smile, a helpful hand, and a clever quip to lighten the day. However, it was at home where Lori's heart truly shone. Married since March 9, 1998, to her beloved husband, Scott Garton, Lori was a loving mother and an adoring grandmother. Her kids were her world, and she cherished every moment with her grandbabies. As the poet Maya Angelou once said, "I sustain myself with the love of family."

Lori is survived by her husband, Scott, her children, Kenzie (Trey), Zane, Tyler and Jordan, her sisters, Kimberly (Brad) Volmer, Cindy (Bill) Shearhart, Teresa (Doug) Stanley, Bobbie Stroud, her brothers, Michael (Bev) McCoach, Dennis McCoach, and numerous other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and JoAnn McCoach, son, Tim Garton and her daughter, Courtney Garton.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 6:00pm until 8:00 p.m. at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 10:00am at Grace Fellowship, 2455 Woodland Avenue, Coffeyville, Kansas, 67337. Pastor Doug Mund will officiate. Following Lori's wishes, cremation will take place following services.

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to an educational fund set up for Lori's son, Zane Garton. These may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
