Lori Jean Guban (nee Wellendorf), devoted mother of Lauren (Mark) McCain and Katherine (Nicholas) Botuchis, and extremely proud grandmother of Everly and Noelle McCain passed quickly and unexpectedly on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the age of 62. She is survived by her dear brother, David Wellendorf (Robin Ruebusch), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and grand nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her deeply missed parents, V. Diane and Eugene Wellendorf, as well as other loving aunts, uncles, and family members.
Lori adored her family, going above and beyond for them every day of her life. She never missed an opportunity to offer her helping hand by watching her grandchildren, fixing anything that broke, or dropping items off when in need. Her life's mission was to make sure the people around her were taken care of and happy, despite any extra work it caused her.
Lori loved THE Ohio State University, where she was a proud alumna, as well as her dedication to Seton High School and her Seton and Elder friends. She was a true lifelong learner and loved learning more about anything. You would often find her searching more information on her phone to share about interesting topics in conversation or texting as a follow up to a previous conversation. She loved music, sailing, classic roadsters, and movies. She would frequently send along her favorite movie recommendations or songs to fit her mood or something going on in the recipient's life.
Her light was brighter, and her smile was bigger around those she loved. She would do anything for those she loved and it's a lesson her family hopes to pass on to future generations.
