Lori Harvey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Memorial Services of Iowa at Ankeny Memorial (MSI) on Feb. 5, 2026.
Lori Jane (Jensen) Harvey, 58, passed away February 2, 2026, in Ankeny, Iowa.

Lori was born on August 16, 1967, in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, a small river town, to Charles and Jane (Thompson) Jensen. She was raised in the same home as her father, Charles.

Lori graduated high school in 1985. After high school, she married and had a daughter, Tearran, at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Later, Lori moved back home and spent many years raising her family in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, before moving to Ankeny, Iowa, where she met her fiancé, Troy Nelson.

Lori loved spending time outside gardening, hunting, and fishing. She loved the beach and always wanted to retire near the ocean. Above all, she loved her family, especially spending time with her grandsons and they could always count on an adventure when they were with "grandma".

Her personality and presence filled a room, and she loved with her whole heart.

Lori is survived by her fiancé, Troy Nelson; daughter, Tearran (Andrew) Hess; mother, Jane (David) Thompson; stepmother, Carol Jensen; sisters, Kathy (Joe) Thompson and Sarah (Charles) Sale; brother, David Jensen; and grandchildren, Asher and Victor Hess.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charles.

Moota Man here, as you lovingly referred to me as. We will all miss you Lori. It is not a question of if; but when we all are reunited we'll get to hang out again, share deep laughs and your vivid brightness, silly humor. I know, you are still here with us. Family is inseparable. Love is permanent. I'll make sure everyone is reminded of that, but; I know you will too in your own way.
Until then, continue to reside in our hearts and minds, your warmth, kindness, presence, is always welcome here among your family, forever.
Say hi to Grandpa for me.
Rest easy now Aunt Lori, in complete peace, absence of pain, and tranquility.
Your Nephew,
James Aaron Jensen
