It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, sister and aunt, Lori Ann Gillette Hawk, a lifelong resident of
Carbondale, PA. Lori shared a beautiful marriage of three years with her loving husband, Ed Hawk.
Lori was born April 9, 1968 in
Carbondale, PA, and was the daughter of the late William and Ann (Wagner) Gillette. Lori graduated from Carbondale Area High School and was currently employed by Geisinger.
Lori was a loving and deeply caring person whose greatest joy came from being surrounded by family, especially her beloved nieces and nephews. She cherished every moment spent with them and found happiness in making others feel special and loved. She shared an enduring and joyful friendship with her best friend Maureen, with whom she spent countless hours talking, laughing, and embarking on new adventures.
A lifelong animal lover, Lori held a special place in her heart for her pets, considering them true members of her family. Lori's passion for life was reflected in her many interests, especially her love of baking for others and her joy in celebrating Christmas, a holiday that she embraced year-round. Her generosity, warmth, and enthusiasm for sharing life's simple pleasures brought happiness to everyone who knew her.
Lori's passing leaves many brokenhearted, yet she also leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will continue to comfort and inspire all who were fortunate to know her.
She is also survived by her siblings: Billy Gillette and wife, Debbie, Lynn Gillette, Lisa Harach, Carol Gillette, Jeff Gillette and wife, Michele, and Steven Gillette and wife, Becky; and her loving nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother: Michael; a brother-in-law: Lee Harach; and her beloved four-legged companions: Tika and Joey.
A viewing was held Thursday, October 30. 2025 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 89 Farview Street,
Carbondale, PA. A blessing service was conducted at 7:00 p.m. by Rev. Stephen Brenyah. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions were made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter or the American Diabetes Society.
